A*STAR Research Attachment Programme (ARAP)

A research fellowship enabling PhD students enrolled at universities outside Singapore to spend 1 to 2 years on a joint research attachment at one of A*STAR's research institutes in Singapore. Awardees receive a monthly stipend, housing allowance, one-time IT and travel allowances, a settling-in allowance, and visa cost coverage. Applicants must be nominated jointly by a supervisor at their home university and an A*STAR supervisor, and must hold a Bachelor's degree with at least Second-Class (Upper) Honours or equivalent. Nominations are accepted twice yearly with cycles closing June 1 and December 1; the current open cycle closes December 1, 2026.
